Vida Asana – Playa Hermosa – Costa Roca

What sets Vida Asana apart from other yoga retreat centers is their jungle setting, located close to the beautiful beach of Playa Hermosa, only 90 minutes from the airport in San Jose. Vida Asana serves healthy garden to table cuisine with guests enjoying three organic meals per day. Vida Asana accommodates gluten-free diets as well.
Vida Asana is located on a river in the jungle one mile from the beach with two yoga shalas, spacious dining and lounge area, pool, hammocks, and many places to chill, relax, write in your journal, and get to know your peers.
The rooms are modest yet very quiet and comfortable. There are bicycles on site for us to use and there is access to surfboard rentals, nature hikes, visits to waterfalls, and all sorts of other adventures.

Retreat Details

OUR ITINERARY:

Yoga, fitness, meditation, adventuring…we’ll do it all during our 8 day, 7 night week at Playa Hermosa in Costa Rica.  We will enjoy 2 yoga, fitness and meditation practices daily in one of our two open air shalas surrounded by the jungle.  All delicous, organic meals are included in our week.   With plenty of time to connect with others, go on adventures, ride bikes to the beach, or rest by the private pool or in a hammock at our retreat center, our week is sure to be a restful, rejuvinating and relaxing trip we all need.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

• A Cacao Ceremony on opening night of our retreat
• One complementary 60 minute massage during the week​
• A day trip to Rainmaker Park Rainmaker Park is the best of both worlds as it feels
  like a national park yet is relatively unheard of – a hidden gem! The gorgeous shade-making tree canopy
  and clear waters keep this hike super fresh even on the hottest of days. One of our favorite guides will take
  you on this adventure, ensuring that you see as much wildlife as possible while educating the group about
  the inner workings of the rainforest and her plant and animal life. It is a true rainforest experience,
  complete with hanging bridges, rushing rivers, waterfalls, and clear fresh-water swimming pools. The tour
  finishes up with a home cooked traditional lunch.
• A day trip to Manuel Antonio National Park  A very popular to-do on the Costa Rican ‘bucket list’.
  At this park, you are guaranteed to see monkeys, sloths, raccoons, and variety of other wildlife. Your guide
  will have a scope for close viewing and take you along the reserve culminating in one of the most beautiful
  beaches in Costa Rica – white sand and mellow surf make for a perfect ocean swim. On the way back to Vida
  Asana, you will stop at the famous ‘El Avion’ restaurant for the view, a bite to eat, smoothie, or an adult
  beverage.
•  Mirador Hike Our retreat host Sean leads a beautiful walk along the local lookout point made from
  modern ruins and claimed by local artists. Beautiful views and a leisurely stroll make this an enjoyable
  group activity and it benefits the local Brazilian Jiu Jitsu organization, BJJ Jacó.
• A mid-week Beach dinner at Vida Hermosa Restaurant Featuring delicious food and a fabulous sunset right on the water.
• A Live Band and Sangria night (with a non-alcoholic option) + Feria on the last night of our retreat
  2 hours of live music…dancing is highly encouraged!
  Feria, also called local market, comes to us on the last night.  Featuring local art, jewelry, hats, bags, clothes, incenses, organic cosmetics and much more!​
• Access to the pool, sun deck with lounge chairs, hammocks, and covered lounge area and bikes to ride to and from the beach

DINING:

Three delicious meals per day are included in your retreat. The food at Vida Asana was created with a healthy lifestyle as the inspiration. Every menu item is made from scratch using whole, and as often as possible, organic ingredients. The food is gluten free, and vegan centric (eggs and yogurt options at breakfast) and fish served at dinner every second night. All allergies or dietary needs are easily accommodated.
