Event Navigation

Description
Permaculture is a design method that allows us to implement the working principles of natural ecosystems into our human endeavors and by doing so, reducing our environmental footprint and turning our work into a regenerative process.
Join us this August, in Adama Farm, with our team of experienced permaculturists lead by Itai Hauben and Melina Hurtado, both homesteaders with 20 years of experience living, researching and teaching Permaculture. Both holding MSc. in regenerative design and have deep passion to share their experience and knowledge.
During our permaculture course, you will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge of the principles and ethics, as well as hands-on experience in practices such as soil regeneration, water systems, and biointensive gardening, invisible structures….
Our experienced instructors will guide you through each lesson, ensuring that you leave with the skills necessary to implement permaculture practices in your own life. Including design process and methods to bring your vision to life.
Our course isn’t just about education – it’s also a unique cultural experience. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the mountains of the highest point of Costa Rica, Cerro Chirripo.
You’ll enjoy delicious, locally sourced food and have the chance to connect with like-minded individuals from around the world

Project Design
Design is at the heart of permaculture and consequently we strive to put students in as many design scenarios as possible. In addition to mini projects we are giving, students will present a project, a vision or a dream they want to work with, on a land they live, own, share…
They will spend extensive time of the course designing a permaculture project in groups, and we will help and give insight on their visions, so each one can get the experience on how to do a site analysis, a client interview, and then transform all these information into a visual map that uses the principles and teachings of the course.
