Bamboo Masterclass

The class includes a tour of at least 6 species of mature bamboo, as well as building projects that utilize elegant and effective bamboo construction. This master class will demonstrate live bamboo harvest and discuss gravity treatment for long-lasting materials as well as other method. We will also discuss methods for relocating roots, ideal growing locations, and bamboo selection.

YOU WILL LEARN:

  • Methods of treating bamboo – 3 species for building grown on the farm
  • Discussion of natural bamboo curing and other methods of treatment
  • Functional, elegant joint-tying methods with durable materials. How to make simple bamboo boards

CLASS INCLUDES:

  • Full day of learning (8am-2pm)
  • Plant-based farm-to-table lunch
  • Learning how to cut & treat bamboo naturally, economically, effectively
  • Water adventure at spring-fed waterfalls/pools
  • Slideshow handbook on how to do joints, and treat bamboo naturally
