3 days with cacao – Caribbean coast

3 days practical and theoretical cacao exploration. Together we make bean to bar chocolate so that you understand each step of the process.
We make several cacao drinks for different cacao cultures and peoples.
Discuss when where and why to use different version of the cacao drink.
We make 3 types of tea from the leaves and a cacao flower essence.
I share the deep culture and history of cacao and chocolate and how that could influence the way it is used ceremonially.
We spend a lot of time on the medicinal aspects of both the whole tree and the cacao bean.
We enjoy a whole beauty regime with the cacao as the main or only ingredient in each preparation.
We talk about the herb spices and flowers used traditionally and recently with cacao, and explore the medicinal benefits as well as the many psychological and emotional effect. In all this I centre cacao as the beautiful and wise being she is.
There are meditations and plant sits, journaling and sharing. It is a transformative experience for the participants who come from all types of backgrounds and cacao use. It is also fun and stimulating.
Its 6 hours of class each day with a shared vegan pot luck lunch.
I have been making chocolate professionally for 10 years working with cacao for 13. My background is in education and herbalism and I am a ceremonialist and storyteller.
