Comunidad Protectora de Tortugas de Osa (COPROT)
Description
COPROTĀ is a community-driven conservation project that aims to conserve sea turtle nesting beach habitat on the the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica. We protect 8km of beach where we register over 7000 nests per season from the Olive Ridley and Pacific green species. But we are so much more than sea turtle conservationists. We have the vision of a bright and abundant future, where conservation projects find solutions with local stakeholders to protect the incredible biodiversity of the Osa Peninsula while also improving the quality of life for the community. We hope that in this way we can develop a sustainable situation where humans and wildlife are able to live in harmony, and where we join forces to conserve and regenerate the incredible ecosystem here.
